I swear that this is a true story. I am a professor of accounting at a midwestern college. About one-third of the students in one of my courses were cheating on exams. When I took steps to stop the cheating, they complained to the dean. The dean told me that, because I was preventing the students from cheating, I was, therefore, setting them up for failure.
