Stupid CoWorkers

I was a Crew Worker for the McDonalds in Marietta, GA…Because of the horrible job market as of late I had to settle for a job in the fast food industry(I’am 18). After meeting the Asst. Manager a couple of times I was hired, and the exposure to stupidity and laziness began. First, for some reason the management feels it is necessary to understaff on the busiest nights of the week, I believe this is for a bigger profit for the owner. I don’t mind being the long soldier on the GRILL..but doing 5 McChickens, Dropping meat and frying McNuggets at the same time is fatiguing and unecessary for the 6.25/hr I’am paid.

Secondly, The staff is made up of some of the most horny and lazy people I have ever met in my life. Whenever your Manager asks if you have “Big Meat” you know something is wrong. I have gotten used to seeing co-workers grope and coddle each other on a daily basis or go to the shed to retrieve “gloves”.

The rest of my co workers while good people are entirely lazy..This was made apparent by the constant walking off the job to talk, smoke or do anything else without telling the manager.

McDonald’s, I believe, is a good first job to those who want to exposed to the real world. It’s not all peaches and cream..It’ll definetely help motivate you to set high standards for yourself career wise. Currently, I’m doing something I love…Teaching computer courses at a local computer store and the pay is 9.25/hr!!!!

I am an ultrasound tech and one of the job requirements is to take call. Whatever night you are on call you have to do all of the portable exams for that day which means you have to push around a heavy machine and perform exams bedside.

We have one tech that does not take call because he is raising his kid on his own and says that his kid is so out of control that he must be with him every night (keep in mind that his mother is about a 10 minute drive from him, so she can’t watch him for one lousy night a week? She is young enough and I am sure she would love to have her grandson over for the night). This guy HATES doing portable exams and has said so on a few occasions and since he doesn’t take call the rest of us have to pick up his day doing inpatients. I cannot seem to get management to see that he should still have to do inpatients one day of the week instead of the rest of us having to share taking his call and doing his inpatients for that day.

I have yet to meet his kid and I am beginning to doubt that the boy is out of control like he says he is. I think he is using him to get out of taking call. I just have zero tolerance for lazy coworkers and it is difficult for me to have any respect for someone who will not even offer to help me with my inpatients if I am bombarded with orders. I just think he is a self-centered person that uses other people to make his life easier. He has so many of the others feeling sorry for him, they think it is so sad that his son gives him grief.

Everytime he starts one of his sob stories about his son I have to leave the room because I cannot stomach such bull shit. He describes his son as being out of control, disrespectful, irresponsible and says he has little hope that the boy will grow up to be a responsible adult. I just want to say, when he starts talking like that about his son, ‘uh, I think you just described yourself’.

Does anyone else out there have a sorry excuse for a coworker like this?

Police in the border city of Tijuana said they arrested a U.S. man with heroin hidden in his shoes.

Martin Galvan, 19, arrived in Tijuana’s airport from the western state of Michoacan when police said they saw he was having difficulty walking. On closer inspection, police found 21 ounces of heroin in the soles of his shoes, Mexico’s Attorney General’s office said. It did not give Galvan’s home town.

The heroin had a street value of about $20,000, the office said.

Judge Doug Cowling also ordered the 34-year-old to pay $800 to the City of Parksville to replace the garbage can.

Cowling heard that after removing the metal container, Makkonen took it to a recycling centre where he sold it for $37.
