Stupid CoWorkers

I’m a senior manager in a small corporation. There’s a woman in our office who is the victim of what I call a “witch hunt.”

She is generally not seen as management material because she is too “soft,” and so was passed over for promotion several times, and even demoted once. She has allegedly vented her frustrations “anonymously” on sites such as these. We cannot prove it’s her, but it sounds enough like her to have angered senior management.

This is about the most awful place i’ve worked. I had just finished a long temp assign in accounts proccessing and applied for a permanent position in administration at a new company. At first all seemed fine and i received the call back to say they were offering me the position. I was so happy i finally had a permanent job when it started. I have extensive experience in administration and accounts but they said that i would be starting on traineeship wages and had to complete the government approved training course before i would receive full wages.

I work for a law enforcement agency in Australia in the role of an assistant and had been there for less than 6 months when I was asked to work on a team dealing with some pretty horrific crimes. This team consisted of just 3 people, my boss, an “agent” and me.

The reason I was placed on this team was to organize meetings with victims of crime and allow our agency to talk to them about the progress of the investigation. Basically all I had to do was book a venue, make sure there was tea; coffee etc and make sure invites were sent out on time. I’ve done similar things in the past and this all went without a hitch, dispite my boss spending more time giving me stupid tasks like making sure her dry cleaning was done and getting her lunch everyday! (When I was hired I was told that things like this were NOT in my job description, and not to do them no matter who told me to- but I did anyway)

I don’t so much work with Fools as I work with people that are incapable of thinking past their own nose. Some do…others do not. Here’s what I’m saying:

– I support a user (in his 60’s) who believes that typing e-mails is women’s work (Secretaries do that). This guy isn’t even middle management. He can barely type in his own password on a daily basis…that he doesn’t bother shutting down or logging off of his PC. It’d probably take him 10 minutes just looking for the keys to type his password.
